Chalong circle Police

Featured Replies

Got stopped there yesterday, very polite Policeman, asked me for Licence and Tax which was provided, he then went on to explain that I had 3 months left until renewal also that I should make my tax visable (kept under seat normaly) I have done as he asked, my tax is now stuck to my front screen(motorbike)

Never once in 12 yrs have I come into contact with a nasty Plod, another good experience.

Good to hear , meet nice police officer (yeah there is but not many). Many have own box to tax stamp in motorbike, but never heard that need be place where can see! Many bikes its impossible to put place where can see!

Interesting post on Facebook yesterday by a rider stopped on Karon Beach Road.

It seems many are being stopped here and taken behind the old police station, out of sight, where they are asked to produce their documents.

The person stopped in this instance had helmet, licence and tax yet was fined 1000 baht (negotiiated to 500) for "having his foot in the wrong place" whilst riding the bike!

If you want to read further it's in the Brown Bear Facebook group.

Can not believe that is true in fact it's ridiculous, probably someone with an attitude towards the Police,

It sounded genuine, or I wouldn't have posted it here.

Try to look at the thread.

Yeah, I was stopped - policemen wrote in English what I need to provide... no problems at all.

I have read it on here before about a Farang getting done by the Thief Police because his back foot rests were down and he didn't have a passenger on the back......

Doesn't surprise me in the least, the Karon cops are absolute fk ah and probably the most corrupt lot on the island.
