The Royal Thai Police sent Pol Gen Suchart Thirasawat to Pattaya to demand action and further evidence gathering in the case of the armed robbery of two Chinese men at a luxury house in the Siam Royal View estate.

The Chinese claimed they were tied up and 3 million was taken from a safe by five armed men. A driver of one of the victims found them and alerted security.

Suchart, a deputy commander of the RTP, held a 2 hour meeting yesterday afternoon with Nong Prue police, provincial officers, immigration, tourist police and forensic teams.

After this he said he wanted to see developments in the case quickly. He said that the veracity of the claims of the Chinese men - aged 38 and 31 - needed to be checked and their movements in and out of Thailand checked.

They have been referred to as "tourists" in the media, notes Thaivisa, but this latest report by 77kaoded it was stated they were actually running a cosmetics business with connections in their home country.

In further developments it was suggested that some English words were heard among the robbers and it has still not been ascertained if they were Thais or foreigners.

Investigations continue and Gen Suchart said a further meeting would take place next week to check on progress.

The police are probably hoping for finder's fee as they usually do, plus, there must be some leaning on from the victims 'home country' movers ad shakers,, the thing is, it's very difficult to know the truth in this country...

3 police photographers taking photos of 2 police saluting a more senior police officer. Very sensible use of police time.

What happened to the 10 Million that was reported at first,

now it's only 3 million,lot of fuss over 3 Million,you sometimes

find it difficult to have them look into a murder.

Pocket money of rich Chinese more important than life of poor Thai.

........is their rationale?

The one on the left taking the photo seems to have had a laundry accident.

When he asked what progress had been made so far, the response was 'None, nobody gave us money yet'......

That's why the general is there. He will lead on the negotiations, just to make sure his underlings are not scamming him.  ????

Photo-cops.  This is just on the off-chance that the case is solved.

Six cops on view - it's like a bandit-stop on Sukhumvit or Railway road!
