Non-O Married. Extension based on child. Problem.

Featured Replies

My expired Non-O ME was based on marriage.

The IO on my last entry even wrote Married with Thai above the visa.

I have just gotten a 60 day extension based on family, and during that time I will apply for the 12 month extension based on being a parent of a Thai. the 400,000 baht in my bank account won't have been seasoned to apply based on marriage.

The very nice and helpful IO explained that the decision will not be with them, that it will be done at the head office, and that as the extension is being based on a different reason than the visa, that it may be an issue.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of getting a 12 month extension based on being a parent of a Thai child, while their Non-O visa is based on being married to a Thai?

TIA.

The reason the  non-o visa was issued for does not matter when applying or a extension.

If the local office accepts your application it will not be disapproved by the division headquarters it is sent to.

Thank you.

Not that it really matters, will there be a home visit and interview or chat with the neighbors by immigration officers while it is under consideration?

Yes unless they ask you to bring witnesses to the office when you apply. It depends upon the office where you apply.
