Countries where you can walk in and book apartments

Featured Replies

One of the big benefits of Thailand is the fact you can walk into the reception of any apartment building and book a room easily.

I guess it's the same in countries like Vietnam, Philippines, and Cambodia too.

But does anyone know if there are other countries around the world where it's so easy.

Especially interested in Turkey, Ukraine, Ecuador, and Mexico.

Cheers

There are places where you can do this in China, but they're not easy to find. (Also foreigners are informally excluded from cheaper hotels in China; booking in to a hotel uses a machine linked to the local police. Cheaper hotels only have one that can deal with Chinese ID cards; only somewhat more expensive hotels & foreigner-oriented hostels have a separate machine that can also deal with passports.)

I don't know about Cambodia but not as easy in Vietnam and definitely not in the Philippines.
