and when did Swedes get microchipped?

For a while! You obviously missed something, but if you like I can also tell you another about the Swedes.

Sweden is the only country in the world (at least to my knowledge) to have abolished cash. In Sweden, cash is banned and refused as a means of payment These are the information in my possession and I sincerely hope that they are wrong

I'm sure the locals are going to super friendly to anyone seen wearing one of these wristbands. They'll be treated like lepers. How long before shops have signs outside "Solly, wristband people cannot".

Seriously, coming here for a holiday sounds like a humiliating test of endurance.

I think this wristband idea will put many potential western tourists off 0who until now considered to travel.

I think the Thai Officials (Gov/Immigration) should use a professional interpreter to translate what they REALLY DO MEAN when putting out stories and holding press conferences that pertain to Foreigners.

So much is always LOST in translation by various outlets.

It may be that the wristbands are only while in quarantine. Why would they have people use is AFTER quarantine?

TV clarification please?

In Western Australia 2 people had  escaped the quarantine many times the have been fitted

with ankle bracelets which is understandable

Stop thinking out loud because all it does is <deleted> people off .  Covid tests and 14 day quarantine feels like smart policy . The other <deleted> they spout seems like they want to punish tourists for wanting to go to Thailand . Truly detached from what tourists expect in a holiday .

Well this sure makes it easy for the taxis and touts to spot ya easily..Hey.....HEY YOU!!

Will they color code them depending on country so its easier for thais to judge your worth?

"Where u from.....oh, I see Red band....you are English......beans and toast teerak?? Fish n chips?

For a small 2000 bt fee they can just implant the chip under your skin-for Elite Visa Holders only

Im too lazy but was thinking of posting Rockwells' Video from 80s..."Somebodys Watching Me"

The cloud cuckoo land kid strikes again.????

So Prayut says any tourist must wear a GPS wrist band, ha, ha ,ha, dream on pal.

No problem, the first 2 loads of Chinese, 1 goes to Pattaya to buy all the empty guest houses and bars and organise there refitting into gold shops, money exchanges, Chinese hotels and luxury spas.

This has already happened in Chiang Mai, and you should see the glistening gold shops and Casino on the main Rd of Tachilek now

The other goes to Bummingrad hospital for treatment.

The scandanavians are just wealthy people returning to their holiday homes.

The second act to follow STV will be 6 million Chinese who have been vaccinated.

Act 3 will be Russians with a Sputnik 5 certificate.

Europeans will have to wait for the Yanks to get the Fda to give the green light to whichever of the big pharma companies in the multi billion dollar political fight.

The Thailand after lockdown will be vapourised and replaced with the above.

And now

6. Wear a GPS tracking wrist band 24/7 for entire length of stay.

That 'number 6' is pure speculation which will ultimately turn out to be nothing more than that.

These trackers are going to be used to track movements while in quarantine - nothing more.

i refuse to be tracked and harassed

Fair enough.

Some will have no objections to this.

Freedom of choice.

I am not worried for the moment.

People can come to Thailand if they are preprare to follow some directives.

If not, they are still free not to come.

People can still leave if they are not prepared to follow the actual directives, and maybe new further ones.

I will be seriously worried the day I have no freedom of choice anymore.

All well and good and wise words, however, would you or are you prepared to wear a tracking device if directed to do so by the Thai government - - assuming you are actually living here?

Yes, I stated it already in a previous post.

At 72, and being here 20 years, I am prepare to endure further other directives.

However if it becomes, what I personally will consider as too much, I will buy a one-way ticket.

all foreign tourists allowed in under the special tourist visa must wear GPS wristbands so that their movements can be closely tracked.

Being tracked by Big Brother all day is not my idea of an ideal vacation.  "We just want to make sure you are complying with all laws.  But of course, we the leadership and police do not respect or honor our own laws."
