The single most effective 'personal responsibility' everyone can take right now is to wear a mask, not only for their protection but also for those more vulnerable members of society, but for some reason all Trump seems to do is call it politically correct or see it as a sign of weakness.

It is severely frustrating that the easiest, simplest behaviors that would abate this thing are actively mocked by 45 and his mindless lemmings. I would encourage them to infect themselves but there are too many people capable of critical thinking that would go down with them.

Thankfully, early voting indicates an explosion of ballots being cast which has the Republicans absolutely soiling themselves.

One hopes that he might have learned a few lessons-one suspects that he has learnt none.

  • I get the impression that the staff at the Whitehouse are starting to hope for a Biden victory next month so they can get out from under this moronic shambles of a "man".

  • Trump is not about learning he's all about showing off and misleading people making light of a horrible calamity that killed and can kill millions while he, like Nero, fiddle his ignorance of the Covi

The media as the gatekeepers of the Truth (so they say although they are not) are wetting themselves over the President's recovery.  Expect the rest of the month to be little but manufacturing negative things to write about the POTUS and his brush with Covid-19.

Granted, this has been the role of media since the invention of the printing press. The problem is, since Reagan repealed "The Fairness Doctrine" then Bill Clinton broke up legislation that blocked monopolies in media ownership, now 6 corporations control 90% of all news fed to you. Don't doubt for one minute that it's beneficial to them to keep us pitted against each other. Civil debate is all but dead as exhibited on this and many other forums.

A very interesting read:

Passing a comprehensive relief package seems like a no-brainer?

It would help him get re-elected.

Not sure if he's getting poor advice from meadows, or his "friends", or if it's the drugs?

In other news, COVID-19 jumps species for the first time...saw some tweets that his wife, katie, an aide to vp pence has also tested positive.

does he truly want to get re-elected?  other than "winning" for the sake of winning, he seems rather bored with the whole president thing.  looks more like he's setting up the pieces to ensure a loss that can be blamed on, of course, someone else...... the media, the chinese, the deep state......

the fear is that like a typical whiny brat, he'll kick over the checkers board before he stalks off pouting.

MAGA 2020 guaranteed!

So sorry for being the bearer of bad news. His chances for your MAGA 2020 just got worse after the self-destructive debate. Try to collect yourself for more bad news as Trump dives into more clumsy stomach churning brazen attempts to save some face staring at a landslide historic defeat.

If you filed your taxes married, jointly, and your spouse used an ITIN....you won’t qualify for any stimulus anyway.  It doesn’t make sense, but that’s how the IR͏S interprets it.

Perhaps this filing status throws up a red flag.  IRS may fear illegal aliens with stolen SS numbers and their non-matching ITIN illegal alien spouses.

I can not but help wonder if Trump has been  made well aware of the probability he will lose the election thus eliciting a vindictive stance. That being that if  the popular vote is so far against then the  peasants  can starve !

Publicly announcing a complete halt to negotiating will be difficult  to place blame on the  Opposition and is not exactly likely to enhance Trump's popular votes !

A question to Pence, if he turns up.

Trump's motive(s) for winning are unlike most.  Firstly, he wants to stay out of jail.  And the power of the office would give him more time to turn law enforcement and the courts to his liking.  Secondly, his company needs the business that he won't get if he's out-of-office.  Not just foreign dignitaries, but who else will pay for those $650 rooms if not the Secret Service.  And of course, Trump wants to win.  Because it sucks to lose.  The man is such a full-blown narcissist that these are the sort of stuff that he cares about.

IMO the founding fathers of America never envisaged the possibility of a sociopath as the President, let alone one potentially drug-addled. His line on Biden and prescription drugs has shriveled into insignificance.

Exactly correct.  The world needs to learn to live with the virus and personally, you need to assess your risk profile and act accordingly. Take some personal responsibility!

Meanwhile, millions of cancer diagnosis get postponed, cardiac events at home causing death happen, worldwide depression skyrockets, suicides soar etc.  How about all the lonely elderly people that were prevented from having loved ones visit.  The list goes on and on about all the other health related incidents that seem to be overlooked by the scare and fear mongers.

Any credible data to back up your claims about cancer, cardiac arrests, suicide, etc?

Regarding "you need to assess your risk profile and act accordingly" and "all the lonely elderly people that were prevented from having loved ones visit": If young people are ignoring masks, social distancing and other safety protocols, who will be able to safely visit these lonely old people?

"Take some personal responsibility!"

I agree.   Wear a mask and practice social distancing.   Don't be a virus spreader like Trump.

Finally! 45 has revealed his health care plan. If you catch a disease, just deny it exists, deny its ability to kill you, just don't die.

I believe what he actually did was go get the very best treatment available at a hospital that is fully funded by government.

He’s not against a bit of socialism when he needs medical care.

And of course, all paid for by other people’s taxes.

Miller Time.

Since Pelosi is negotiating in bad faith right now, best course of action is waiting until Trump gets re-elected and then the Democrats will become more cooperative.

Is Trump negotiating in good health faith? Are the Republicans?

What happens if he wins, but Congress majorities remain as they are? How are things different? Or, for that matter, what happens if Republicans lose the Senate? Or (brace yourself) if he loses the elections?

As far as he is concerned, maybe not that important. As far as people and businesses needing this support - it means waiting a few more weeks until election time, and then maybe weeks or months more until legislation is passed.

If he plays for some sort of gambit where the election is thrown into contention, which he started weeks ago, wouldn't it be a hoot if it falls into one of those strange technicalities where the Speaker of the House becomes president?  He's already said in about as many words that's why he needs to pack SCOTUS.

44 (the 44th worst in history) is acting irresponsibly, as usual. Extreme narcissists do not consider the welfare of others. He is simply too important, in his own mind, to be concerned about the "lesser people". Since his doctors are pathological liars (qualification for the job?), nobody knows what his true state of health is right now. All I know is that he needs to be gone, baby gone. And he will be in a few months.

His future will be filled with scorn, humiliation, and obscurity. His name will remain radioactive for the rest of his sorry life.

Once the power of the presidency is behind him his business will severely decline and some more bankruptcies on the way.

yes, they did, thus the electoral college;  to remove selection of the president from the whim of an uneducated mob, but rather install a board of electors who could temper or overrule the election of a circus barker.

(bigly) sadly.......
