Thaiger News did a good report on this too.

I bet the Chinese will fill the vacuum left after all the prime sites are closed and empty.

In our experience the Chinese are not repeat visitors and they only come for a few days and they very rarely come to Phuket in high season we used to do well with the Chinese in low season but that was slowing down last low season was possibly the worst low season we have had in 5 years the other time we got busy with Chinese was their new year but it was only for a few days.

That was not just us I know many people with hotels and small resorts if you look at the OTA's web sites you will see places are giving it away and you dont have to be Einstine to see they are not making money

Chinese loans to buy submarines, Chinese loans to build high-speed train lines, Chinese loans to build a new government house, soon Chinese loans to build a bridge over the gulf of Thailand, and maybe one day eventually Chinese loans to build the Kra channel.

"More Chinese loans please! Pleeeeeeze!! And, don't forget to supply some more nice swiss watches together with the contracts", shout the generals to their Chinese friends. Can you hear the generals sing, Xi?

But now, no Chinese loans to help the tourism businesses....? Not in Phuket, not in Samui, not in Pattaya? Oh!!! How come???

Aaaah, I see, because the Chinese prefer the direct investments into the Thai tourism businesses. Let's take over the hotels for a few Yuan in the coming public auctions. A paradise for Chinese investors, isn't it? :jap:

Thank you khun P!

Regards Xi

Exactly what the Chinese have done throughout Africa to get their hands on its mineral wealth. They have loaned money for the railroads to ship the minerals out and the ports to send the minerals to China.

None of these African countries will ever be able to pay back the loans, which don't have any of those pesky Western demands for human rights attached to them.

An this is exactly what is happening now not only in Thailand, but in many countries in Southeast Asia, and how China does take over control in these countries, and increases its power on the world stage in order to become the number 1.

I think you mean zero Baht. They pay in Renminbi in China.
