For a very  long time many analysts  have tried to suggest that the  Asian economies will be positioned to stay strong comparatively to declining "accepted" western strongholds including  the $US.

The Thai  Baht has been an example of  stability despite political turmoils because it has remained productive.

Even now with the  global impact of the pandemic and even the resurgence of political agitations it continues  to maintain a relative stability .

The UK currency in a similar situation is and has been subsiding because there is no  basis to  claim stability on any  genuine premise. Brexit  introduced  it and  Covid-19 has accelerated  that by eliminating even viable identifiable destination of surviving  productivity.

Wow, I am not sure how everyone could jump from the Thai Baht to the Pound to Fishing in British waters.  It was interesting to read, but far, far off-topic.

Please stick to the topic.

That chart means nothing, the pound is not going back to 70 to the baht. Doubtful it falls much further too, most likely it will stay where it is.

Wishful thinking, given the COVID crisis and the no deal. Pound might get stronger in the long run as brexit uncertainty smooths out and the euro is a house of cards, but it will take years. For now it will stay where it is, slightly up or down.

Since history repeats itself, looking at the historical trends of the Baht vs Pound is a good start to predicting what's going to happen in the future. Especially now that 2020 and it's extreme unpredictability is almost over.

History doesnt repeat itself though , you cannot predict the future exchange rates going by the pasts exchange rates , its n0t a circle

Hmm...you guys don't think the baht is manipulated??? All Thai economics are very bleak at best and the baht remains solid! Ask the Fed if they manipulate to keep the dollar sustainable...!

Well with Boris announcing  a months lockdown over the Corivirus from next Thursday  and Brexit talks not going well

Plus the American election dependant who wins how the $ does

The Baht itself won't change much on the FX but the pound will drop all by itself, a toxic mixture of Brexit, covid lockdowns and debt it can't afford.

You have no idea about how Brexit wil effect the UK economy anyway, this thread isnt about Brexit
