A pick-up truck crashed into a truck carrying a load of refrigerators in Si Sa Ket province on Tuesday, killing one and injuring four.

Police arrived at the accident site in Muang district at 9.45pm to find three injured people in the pick-up truck, who were immediately sent to hospital.

Meanwhile, the other truck’s driver and passenger were found stuck between the front seats. The passenger, later identified as Buri Ram-resident Pinyo Chantet, 32, had died immediately.

Witnesses said they heard a tyre explode before the two vehicles crashed, and decided to call the police because they were worried the vehicles would explode.

Just another day on the ever increasing carnage calendar.

Chilling news...

So, the vehicle was poorly maintained - low tyre pressure, old worn tyres... (blowout).

Further carelessness leading to more unnecessary and easily avoidable deaths on Thailand’s roads...

Thank goodness the load of refrigerators did not explode.......
