I'm not an expert in these matters, but I wonder what the effect is if you bomb a nuclear site

so long as you are 6,000 miles away, not a lot for you. 'Owner beware' seems to fit.

Bombing one facility isn't going to stop them once and for all.

no, but it would slow them up a bit and maybe take out some of their specialists.

Trump With two months left to his term in office! Which official was that!

not sure, but one of his national security officials or one of his great generals.

remember this is the stable genius who asked "why we got all these nukular bombs if we can't use 'em?", and following his batsoup crazy idea of nuking the weather....

Text: H.R.7075 — 116th Congress (2019-2020)

A BILL

To prohibit the President from deploying any strategic weapon, such as a nuclear bomb, for purposes of altering weather patterns or addressing climate change, and for other purposes.

"Especially this President"  Just how many wars has he initiated!

There are many causes of war, amongst which is the creation, for whatever reason, of a ‘military power vacuum’.

It might be a bit less dramatic than a unilateral or preemptive military attack, but a military power vacuums is an open door for enemies to walk right in.

Because US attacks against nations in the region work out so well.

from a distance is okay, its when you use ground troops that it all seems to fail. As General Curtis Lemay famously quoted, 'bomb them (your enemy) back to the stone age and its job done'. You cant expect anything more than agreement from an ex 'mud moving' pilot.

Perhaps 41 out of 45 and #46 raises the ratio.

Except it doesn't work. Not in Vietnam, Laos, hey how about plucky Britain WW2? Unless willing to go nuke & hope other side can't... Someone quipped about that quote re Afghanistan and pointed out it would be bombing them forward into the stone age...

I would not be surprised, maybe even expect Trump to leave some flaming turd bag on Biden's porch when it is time for Trump to leave. Jan 19 some ruckus to take attention away from inauguration.

You're claiming Obama, Clinton, Ford, Roosevelt were evil. They made mistakes, but evil, far from.

So Trump is trying to 'go out with a bang' by nuking another country?

That was not the report. Nobody was considering  nuking anyone.   That is just how things get distorted, by people not understanding what was perhaps  being considered, but never seriously.   If people can't work out for themselves that such a  report is a ploy to engender fear/uncertainty in the minds of the lunatic Iranian leadership, then Ignorance truly  is bliss, its also lazy thinking .

an age old untruth that has been regurgitated for decades, Bombing always works,  if the bombs are smart enough to hit vital areas, or, in Japan's case,  big enough.  Desert Storm one and two proved the concept once and for all. Smart interdiction is the name of the game. It is the stupid politicos who want to spread their idea of western democracy to people who don't understand it and don't want it imposed.  Nation building they call it, stupid most informed folk call it. That is what has screwed up things in Afgan and Iraq.  Keep your distance from the mad Mullas and smart bomb the lunatics.  It will work every time.

Of course it helps if you don't give a <deleted> about "collateral damage" and the not too uncommon dodgy intel.

Engendering fear/uncertainty in the minds of any lunatic leadership is not a good idea.

it happens in War, but a lot less than it ever used to do. History tell us that War is a human condition, as much so as breathing or reproducing.  We are a savage species, I guess that the object is is to be the biggest savage in the jungle, but with a thick veneer of civilisation .

The main lunatic leadership is in the USA at the moment.

If people can't work out for themselves that such a  report is a inside information on the thinking of the lunatic US president, then Ignorance truly  is bliss, its also lazy thinking .
