I can actually believe that Trump would be convinced  by  others  to use  his fading  days  as POTUS  to inflict a scenario which for  himself  would be an infliction on the response of  his  successor.

It  would confirm all of the genuine concern and priorities  of  those who would wish  him  gone.

If he were to initiate this I am quite sure  he would  condemn  the USA  to a global  position  that to decent  US Americans  could never before be contemplated by it's own populace.
