Rescuers managed to rescue passengers that had fallen into a canal running alongside the Phitsanulok-Nakhon Sawan Road early on Friday.

The incident was reported just after midnight and the rescue team arrived to find the front half of the car submerged in water. They immediately pulled four people out of the sinking car, but one passenger was unconscious and it took a while to drag him out.

The unconscious passenger was then sent to Naresuan University Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is still unknown though police have launched an investigation.
