Phnom Penh: Reports on the evening of November 28, 2020, say that the Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to close AEON Mall 1 temporarily after finding a Cambodian woman who tested COVID-19+ went to the market to eat and buy some groceries.

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Ms. Youk Sambath said that the Cambodian woman was tested positive for COVID-19 on the evening of November 28, 2020, after she developed suspicious symptoms. The Ministry of Health is now tracing people who may have come into contact with her at Aeon 1 to test and isolate.

Ms. Youk Sambath confirmed that the decision to close Aeon Market for a few days was made to monitor those involved to test, and prevent the possible transmission of the virus.

The woman lives in Borey Peng Huoth. FAST NEWS

UPDATE: KOHSANTEPHEAP reports that the woman had been suffering from mild symptoms for 10 days before she went for a test. The Ministry of Health is also concerned as this is a local infection, and not an imported case.

Well it was inevitable.

The issue is not just who she might have infected but who infected her.

For every symptomatic case there dozens - if not hundreds - of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic ones.
