Baby's health insurance rejected because I am American citizen

Featured Replies

We bought health insurance for our baby (born in Thailand) 42,000 baht for 1 year. They then rejected the insurance because the father is an American citizen. They will refund us the money. Anybody else went through this before? What insurance company should I talk to now?

I have life and health insurance on both my kids. American and use AIA.

WOW! Very expensive, but maybe they covered everything. My son is ThaiAmerican, now 18. Had insurance with AIA since he was 4. Health...Baht 9100 per yr.

I use Cigna global.  It is about 750 USD per kid.

YMMV

Change company but first tell us what company did?

First five years is expensive those are the years especially if you are buying outpatient!

The insurance is from Krung Thai Bank.

My wee one one has been with AIA for 3 yrs. now (inpatient only), no problems (17/18k per annum).

Change company

PS Not American.

On a personal note the last place you want insurance is from a bank here.

30 baht if first hospital visited is in same province, The problem being a lot of people are snobbish when going to a hospital and won't go to a Govt. hospt. , they think private is better, without knowing that many specialists also work 1 day+ a week at the government hospitals.
