December 7, Prime Minister Prayut is going to visit flood areas in the southern region to console sufferers and to discuss long-term flood prevention measures.

PM’s Office spokesperson, Anucha Burapachaisri has advised that tomorrow, PM and Minister of Defence General Prayut Chan-O-Cha is going to visit Nakhon Si Thammarat to monitor the flood situation and provide survival kits to the victims as well as to encourage local officials who have been working hard since the disaster started.

According to the latest report on the flood situation on December 6, the PM was informed that the water level had begun to recede. He then stressed the need for local authorities to monitor the situation at all times, in order to warn residents in the area if the situation suddenly worsens.

In addition, related authorities have also been responding to the emergency quickly. The Ministry of Defence focuses on fixing houses, public facilities, and infrastructure. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security focuses on the mental recovery of children with special needs, elders, and patients.

The Ministry of the Interior and The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives are surveying the damage to households and agriculture to provide compensation in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister’s Office.
