Online "Ponzi" conwoman arrested in Lopburi - victims expected 10% daily income on foreign shares

INN reported that the Thai police had arrested a woman called Maneerat, 28, in a car park in Lopburi.

 

She was wanted in connection with running an online ponzi style scheme in May. She was served with a warrant for defrauding the public issued in Chonburi.

 

She denied involvement. 

 

INN said that Maneerat and friends calling themselves "Ban Orm Ngern" went on เลิฟยูววว วรา (Love Youuuu Wara) promising 10% returns per day dealing in foreign shares.

 

Along with a video a woman called Woraporn explained how that could be achieved.

 

Around fifty people fell for the claims putting in 1000 - 1,500 baht a day. Ten per cent was paid at first. 

 

But money in the millions was lost, said the media, after the scheme's instigators went to ground.

 

Maneerat was taken to Bang Bung police for questioning after it had been discovered she was working in Lopburi.

If I was of the criminal ilk ,I would offer 20% daily returns

to hook the really greedy ones,it just seems so easy......

the difficult part would be not getting caught,not easy

to do a runner when so much is closed down,chartered

victims are not expected to have learned a single thing

They should have  realised there was something wrong as the person that conned them was still using her Binoculars seeing them come from miles away
