ROKU 2 advice please

Featured Replies

hope this is the right place, i have a ROKU 2 box not used for 5 years, want to give it to someone, Question, she has wi fi on her phone, i think i need a wireless router to plug the box into, and take the signal from the phone? i see some that seem to plug into a phone, ?  and advice appreciated. not sure if i can dry run it in my condo, as the router is outside in the hallway in the ceiling with auto connect ??

No need. She can use phone to create a Wireless Hotspot and connect the Roku to that. Which of the apps/functions do you hope to utilise?

sorry not sure, only used it once, she only has has a few channels  to watch on her tv i think, cant find the power cord so will go to Tuccom tomorrow, dont i need ethernet  cable tor is that only for phone plug in the wall ? the instructions show it connected to a wireless router so creating a hot spot means i do not require, she knows more than me as to hotspots (no pun) as i have run my phone off her provider DTAC i think before

No ethernet cable needed, as it will work from the hotspot. Does she have fast and unlimited data pack?

DTAC have unlimited 10 Mbps available for new SIM customers. 300 baht per month or 1350 for a year.

doubt that , not sure, i plugged in this morning (in my condo) and it seems the box is not finding wi fi signal although my phone and 2 laptops find it, i have a set top box which appears to have a built in router (2 antennae) that works fine, any one got a wireless router hanging around ??

Don't you have a Smartphone? I have a spare MiFi, but I'm not in MELKSHAM. ????
