Most likely they were smuggled in, easy to do, but would it makes any dent in the flourishing wild animal trade, hardly...

Obviously smuggled in by immigrant workers. They get the blame for everything else.

  • There are around 1.5 billion people of Chinese ethnicity in the world, including the diaspora. That would suggest a good deal of fertility, so the need for eating exotic animal parts seems unnecessary

  • Sad to think in this day and age that people are either so desperate or so greedy for money that they have to do this, shame on all concerned!

And the name of the hotel is...  ???

Vile and disgusting.

These magnificent animals now mere decorations on the walls of a stupid owners hotel. It would make me sick to have seen this.

Too bad we can't put the skins of the owners on the walls of their hotel.

Just a thought.

Why does the World Wildlife Federation have the panda as their symbol.....the Chinese panda.

It is the Chinese, and other Asians, who are responsible for the devastation of rare and endangered species and the slaughter of millions of sharks. They have no issue with bringing these beautiful animals to extinction all for their idiotic and unfounded belief in having medicinal properties.

The WWF should dump the Panda and have the Bengal tiger or snow leopard, etc as their symbol.

Easy enough for locals to guess the name of the hotel from the photo of the

front entrance.

The illegal possession of wildlife remains violates Section 17 of the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act, and further investigation will be conducted to prosecute those involved in the crime.

Do we know when Section 17 was enacted?

What if the items found predated this?

Initial investigation showed that the hotel is owned by Thai and foreign businessmen, who were not available when police arrived.

And never will be available .........  Imagine if they were Farangs ?

How about koala? Those poor animals have been suffering terribly from wildfires.

When they catch up with the owners they should cut their balls off and weld them to their forehead........<deleted>!

"... these are antiques, caught, tanned and taxidermied generations ago and then salvaged by Eugene Yeh and his father from collectors around the world. And, these are the denizens of what for years has been Yeh’s private apartment, a 135-square-meter set of rooms not originally meant for public consumption ... "

Carbochon Hotel

A Thai 'owner or manager' was at the hotel but she did a runner. Police were still looking for her as of yesterday

Hard to believe that.  A Thai person would not etc etc.  Track down the filthy Farangs responsible  immediately.

Google search question from booking page...   "Are pets allowed at Cabochon Hotel & Residence"

P.S. Do they welcome executive guests from multi-national construction conglomerates??

Joke4Fun Memes: Chinese restaurant...

When i came to Thailand first in 1968 it was a mark of wealth to have these on display along with 4 or 6 huge elephant tusks  & was just considered normal.

Dependent on their age they may be quite legal.

I know a fine Thai gentleman who has 8 huge elephant tusks & 4 beautiful whales teeth all quite legal

& registered when the ban came in

Surely even a small dent is too big of a dent.
