Annoying pop-up volume banner - firefox

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether or not the pop-up volume banner (as below) can be prevented from showing whilst still able to continue using the keyboard volume keys?

Or, perhaps, be made to only show the slider section to the left.

Same thing happened to me - It'll happen in chrome to, so you may want to turn off both:

Open chrome browser and type the following and hit enter:

chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling

Under "Hardware Media Key Handling" click the sub menu and select disabled then restart browser.

Firefox - Type the following:  about:config in the URL bar and hit enter. Click ok and type this into the search box: media.hardwaremediakeys. Use the toggle at the right hand corner to change it to false. Restart browser and bingo

I found that method earlier but assumed that it simply disabled the keyboard volume keys so didn't actually try it.

Your post prompted me to try it before responding to you and, lo and behold, it doesn't disable the keyboard keys but does disable the pop-up whilst retaining just the slider section.

Good stuff
