Yes watched it about a week ago,by the way just tried to watch the Larkins a remake of darling buds of may,his 17 yr old daughter looks 10 yrs older than that ,there is a black publican and a black tax inspector in the village, really? In those days. Anyway gave it a go but its not up to much wont be watching the rest of the series.

It's annoying because we ( some of us ) believe they are only there IMO because of wokeness, and not because they fit the character they are portraying. When it started back last century, the term used to describe them wasn't very complimentary.

Being stuck in the UK and scouring the charity shops I've been buying up box sets of Sherlock Holmes (Rathbone), Bela Lagosi and Vincent Price movies for about £1 box set. (Oh and the Munsters)

Sometimes the best 'new' stuff to watch is 60-80 years old !

Well this one is not quite that old but it is over 40 years old and I downloaded it and watched it last night because I wanted a change and wanted something a little light-hearted.

So I downloaded the original, "Airplane" and although I didn't guffaw this time like I did when I first saw it, there were still a few chuckles to be had, and a few things I'd missed, so it represented a pleasant evenings viewing.

I have gone back to watching most of the old spaghetti westerns with Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. 1970's stuff and also Bud Spencer and Trerrence Hill movies for some humour.

Then lately I watched Run Silent, Run Deep is a 1958 American black-and-white war film with Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster, Jack Warden and Brad Dexter. and war films up to all documentaries on the South African Border wars and certain units.

So pretty varied viewing.

I’m sure you would have seen it .. The Black Panther 1978 - a British movie well worth a look.

Another must see movie I came across again:-

Blood Diamond    --  2006  --  Leonardo DiCaprio

Users keep using the word "entertain" in discussing this film, and I don't understand it simply because this movie was not meant to "entertain." Unlike many movies these days, it is meant to inform. Another claim I've read: "If you can get past the violence, it is a great film." Well here's a thought: you're not supposed to "get past" the violence. It is presented in such a way that makes us grateful for every second of our stupid American lives. If you want to be entertained, see Casino Royale. If you want to change the way you think about your own life, then see Blood Diamond. It will make you feel grateful for the life you live, and make your heart start pumping for the right reason. Blood Diamond will make you want to get involved in any organization that supports peacekeeping for conflicts like Sierra Leone.

Quotes from the movie:-
Danny Archer:- Sometimes I wonder... will God ever forgive us for what we've done to each other? Then I look around and I realize... God left this place a long time ago.

Maddy Bowen:- The people back home wouldn't buy a ring if they knew it cost someone else their hand.

Lord of War also a good movie at that time. Filmed next door to my farm. Great cast and crew. Lots of fun and seriousness behind the scenes with the airplane landing scene, locals stealing stuff off the plane, laptops going missing, then the beeeg problem with the AK 47's and others used on set.

Always been a huge Sherlock Holmes fan & used to love watching the Basil Rathbone films as a kid (Jeremy Brett is also very, very good), was suprised to see that a lot of the movies are on YouTube nowadays.

Documentary - Hunting the Essex Lorry Killers

Out there on RARBG.

Summary: “There were three or four seconds of trying to process what you were seeing,” says the first police officer to arrive on the scene when a lorry containing the bodies of 39 Vietnamese migrants was discovered in Essex. But what happened next? This bleak, frequently horrifying documentary tracks the hunt for the people smugglers and the search for the truth about their victims

I never really liked the early cowboy movies with the bad guys wearing black and the gooduns wearing white, neatly dressed in freshly laundered and ironed clothes and always clean shaved. The time of spaghetti westerns and later were the ones for me, especially with Burt in them.

'Cattle Annie and Little Britches' full movie found on youtube.

24 Hours in Police Custody---- Started today  Season 12.

Just watched the first part---it was disturbingly Violent.....

There is something very different to seeing real violence then watching a scripted show.

Romanian robber who posed as Amazon delivery driver to force his way into family home where he beat girl, 14, her aunt and her grandmother in shocking 24 Hours in Police Custody attack is jailed for 16 years.

Jeez this was heartbreaking.

Is is just me but do the sentences in the UK seem excessively soft?

See it time and time again in the cop shows.

Thanks for that.

Still a mystery why he targeted that house.

Despite what the court said, I don't think it was a robbery.

Episode 3 is out there now as well.
