No you can not come here, oh yes you can come here.  No wonder nobody knows what the hell is going on.   Forget about tourist coming here Only those in love will  be coming.  The government and it leadership has again screwed this up.  They should be the last ones to get the vaccine after every Thai has been given two jabs.

Yup, Thailand, the land of flip-flops and not just on their feet.

Let's not forget that the average age at death from COVID-19 in the UK is a whopping 82. A nurse being interviewed on TV recently was also called out for claiming that the wards were full of children - apparently, this was a complete fabrication. The vast, vast majority of hospitalisations are the elderly.

TV loves it, sell ads by scare mongering and clutching people to the tv for the latest virus update

big pharma loves it, scare everybody in taking this magical vaccine, as if any other bad health conditions before corona are suddenly forgotten:  diabetes, cancer, asthma, ...

2) “hospitals are full of sick people” .....yes, that’s what they are used for

3) ambulances are still responding to emergencies,

4) we have just had an update from Boris the Baffoon where he has said he expects the lockdown and things to being to get back to “normal” by Spring.

So basically stop posting scare mongering lies.

Sorry to burst your “covid isn’t real” bubble, but the NHS Nightingale is being repurposed right now in preparation to open due to the surge.

maybe it is you who is spreading lies.

the whole problem in the u.k. started because of people like you, who did not want to believe

that the danger is real. as simple as that. the british government did all the possible mistakes.

and if you think that the chance of someone over 50 catching or dying from covid is slim - than

go tell it to boris johnson. he also thought so and he did get it and he did get to intensive care unit !

you say that most people go to NHS because of something else  but the main problem is

that the medical stuff gets infected - than you contradict yourself, because if there is no

covid problem and it is not so deadly, than the nurses has nothing to worry about. so why

wont you go the england and visit all your favorite bars without a mask. show them what a hero u r.

Exactly. I watched the first episode of this years Casualty programme last night which highlighted the covid crisis.

Obviously dramatised but I suspect some insight into the reality.

Of course its stupid of Thais banning the UK visitors only for countries that don't have quarantine it makes sense banning people from the UK.

If they had banned the UK visitors then they would be admitting their state quarantine is not safe.

As Britain struggles to bring the new variant under control Mr Johnson confirmed travellers to the UK would face new tests to prevent the virus entering the country from overseas.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-lockdown-coronavirus-figures-b1782797.html

Why didn't Thailand think of that.

they should not stopped from entering anyway, the 14. days quarantine should be enough

Exactly. It has been on the news many times that Nightingales are effectively useless without staff.

Beds are not the main problem, it's the staff, in more ways than one.

Dear Thanee

Dont worry too much. As much as we love the idea of being quarantined  sitting in a hotel for 14 days looking at the lovely  decor, our Government has sadly prevented us from enjoying this unique experience by introducing our very own lockdown.

We hope we will soon have the opportunity again spend our hard earned money on your very generous offer.

Thank you.

Are British citizens not allowed to leave the country now?

Oh really?  Were they on a plane?

In the UK they are not allowing people to travel now.  Ha ha ha!

Thailand, what on earth are you doing?

You are correct. No travel in the UK or overseas till at least mid Feb for anyone staying in the UK.

Traveling, holidays and overnight stays

Heading to a second or holiday home is not allowed and you shouldn't travel across the country.

People wishing to travel for business may still be allowed, but only if it's impossible to work from home or a key worker. This means most international travel is highly unlikely to be allowed

They are allowed to travel if they have a valid reason, and moving to Thailand is, ha blood -ey ha ha.

Good on the CCSA for calling it like it is. We can't call it the 'China Virus' but we can call it the 'UK variant' because our feckless government stoked the media and went all in on that before Christmas. Idiots. There are reports of cases of the 'UK variant' from numerous countries including last few days from the US, in people (Colorado and Florida) who have no travel history and no obvious exposure to any likely contact from the UK.

There is also no medical proof that the new variant is more transmissible. Only circumstantial evidence and "modelling" by the discredited scaremonger Neil Ferguson of Imperial College. But of course the public needs its daily dose of fear porn.

you have to have lies or it will stop working, on the way to kill all people

A message to Thailand and Thailand Media:

why don’t you get your <deleted> straight before you speak or release info , The Left hand OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT KNOW !! What the Right Hand is doing !!!

Why the big change of heart, did you do your research and discovered that this new strain of covid 19 originated in South Africa, and not the UK, or is it that the UK, might just ban travellers from Thailand....

'Though more recent research suggests that, like the Spanish flu of a century ago, this new strain may have originated in the USA where a patient was found to be ill from an infection caught in October last.

IMO the government should put measures in place with news/media

not to report or clearly state under review for approval not approved

at this time.

Examples

1-2 days prior UK visitors banned from Thailand due to new strain

of virus... so that news spreads like a fire. 1-2 days later it’s not in place

currently under review.

- 5 provinces under lockdown. .. 1-2 days later that’s not in place yet.

I’m sure many people were in a panic

CORRECT DECISION.

If they believe their quarantine process has holes in it, then they may as well ban everyone.

The whole point of quarantine for 16 days (it's not 14), is you can make sure you don't let anyone with the virus.

This mutation is also all over the world, USA, Europe - so they may as well close up the quarantine process if they don't want it.

They are not using knightingale hospitals because they do not and never have had the staff to run them.

I do find it amusing we are just accepting it is more transmissible, on the basis London has loads of cases. My friends in the UK were shopping like mad in the UK over Christmas, shops all open, some pubs open, it's no surprise the cases are so high in the UK.

Is there any reports from scientists outside the UK to say it is more transmissible ?

This is a funny forum.

The Thais have 61 covid deaths over the course of a year and there are pages upon pages on hundreds of thread by Brits telling the Thai government and the Thai people how badly they are doing.

Recently more than 61 deaths are being recorded in the UK before breakfast. Every day.

And the Brits come up with a whole lot of excuses. And advice for others.

The Thais say they are considering banning flights from the UK. It gets turned and twisted into they are “banning” Brits as 50+ other countries have already done. And there is a huge outrage.

The next day the UK government locks down the whole country therefore removing the need for the Thais to ban flights from the UK to stop the spread of the UK mutant strain, but the Brits still continue to harp on about the Thai policy that never was.

Imagine the harping if only 61 had died in the UK and 75,000 had died in Thailand because the Thais had refused to wear a mask etc. And because of that a new strain had developed and was killing thousands across the globe.

I sick of people calling this the uk COVID 19. Has everyone forgot this started in China. Should we all be calling it the Chinese COVID virus if it’s not in the uk.

pure racism against the British

If you wanted to come to Thailand for a few months, you could still leave - providing there are flights.
