PM appoints committees to investigate source of the latest COVID-19 outbreak

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has signed an order to form two special committees to investigate illegal gambling and smuggling of illegal migrants, which have been blamed for the latest COVID-19 outbreak. The committees are each required to submit a report on the results of their investigations every month.

 

Mr Phakdee Phothisiri, a former member of the National Anti-Corruption Commission has been named head of a committee with 15 members in charge of investigating illegal entries which have caused the COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand.

 

Mr Charnchao Chaiyanukij, a former permanent secretary of the Ministry of Justice, has been named head of a committee of 10 members in charge of investigating the country’s crowded gambling dens which have contributed to the spread of a new COVID-19 outbreak.

 

The two committees have to submit secret reports on the results of their investigations every 30 days.

yes those are the sources and yes they still exist and yes there is corruption; no need committees

Ah more committees, very effective inhibitors of action. Helping to make decisions that are ignored.

But when some elderly foreigners were playing brige in Pattaya, there seemed to be no problem swooping in to arrest ~ 32 folks.

 

 

 

 

Now they need a committee?

They must have a vast building to host the never ending committees they set up here. Never really hear the findings of these so called committees either 

That will be 30 days to appoint a sub-committee ????

Should read PM appoints commttees to investigate corruption in Thailand. What a joke this country is. Same as all corrupt systems. The corrupt investigate corruption.

Why set up committees, when you have already admitted, that your bent police, Army, and immigration personnel were accepting bribes from Myanmar immigrants to cross the border, and you have supposing proved this by charging several dozens of them, 

Also, half the police force have interests in the illegal gambling dens, and if the general public know this,  why don't you.

I think you are wrong with all due respect when it comes to migrant workers. The bribes are being paid by the bosses of the industries employing the cheap labour. It's corruption on a massive scale known by all in power.
