If one is a tourist then why fo anywhere near protests/political gatherings. I lived in BKK and stayed away from everything by choice, as did all my mates.

A mistake?!

 

I assumed the exact opposite. Controlling the narrative, controlling what the outside world knows, is critical. They can always drag out the ... 'it was a misunderstanding' .. after the fact. They are just doing their job.

Probably not the best time to be out buying ping pong supplies.

Really?? Not where the student protesters are concerned anyway. These students are Thailands future, and the best people to

hold protests against the unelected "PM" and his crew. This coved19 has sure done them a big favour.
