Popular Post webfact
Thailand to warmly welcome inoculated travellers By Suchat Sritama Vaccinated travellers will be welcomed in Thailand Foreigners who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 will be welcomed with open arms by Thailand through a new campaign set to launch in 3Q2021. Titled Welcome Back to Thailand Again, the campaign is the country’s bid to reclaim lost international arrivals throughout the pandemic. According to Chamnan Srisawat, president of Tourism Council of Thailand, Thai travel operators have started talks with agencies in potential markets, such as China, to restart destination marketing and prepare for future trips. More than one billion people across the world are expected to be vaccinated by the end of June 2021, which could bring about a return in travel demand. Popular Post webfact
Thailand may fully reopen soon; considers no quarantine for vaccinated travellers By Kristin Mariano Thailand is considering allowing vaccinated travellers to skip the mandatory quarantine. Under the proposed plan, aptly named “Welcome Back to Thailand Again,” the kingdom hopes to see travellers return by the third quarter of this year. Travellers need to present proof of COVID-19 vaccinations (both doses) and the usual visa requirements. If the plan pushes through, Thailand could be the first Asian country to fully reopen its tourism. Vaccinations are rolling out in several countries and global estimates suggest that one billion people will be inoculated globally by June. Popular Post ezzra
Good thinking Thailand, as i will be vaccinated in Oz soon and coming not have to dread the thoughts of being cooped up in a Thai hotel eating fried rice and chicken 3 times a day, being tested and prodded and pay good money on top it, so again, the sooner the better... 11

Popular Post Don Chance
Look to India for a vaccine as soon as they open up. Goa or Kerala would be the perfect place, already has low count of covid cases. Just need to vaccinate the state population and get ready for tourists. India will be manufacturing 100,000,000 vaccines per month i believe. They are biggest manufacture in the world. Popular Post Pattaya Spotter
There are several things wrong with this plan. First, I've seen no estimates of a billion people vaccinated by June. Second, and maybe most important, vaccinated people can still be infected with the virus and spread it to others (they themselves just don't get sick with COVID-19 disease). This is particularly important to what will likely be a mostly unvaccinated Thai host population. And third, there is no proof for how long vaccinations are effective. These are just a few reasons off the top of my head and there are probably more. 27

Popular Post sirineou
A lot of misinformation by many above. The information has been posted repeatedly , but many seem to ignore it because it does not feet in their narrative . I think we can all agree that if you do not have covid you can not transmit it.Which is why the test and then the quarantine , because you could develop it with in 14 days. After 14 dats you can go, and its not because you cab no longer get it. So you are vaccinated . Below is information concerning that from the US CDC website updated Jan 5 "ll COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the United States have been shown to be highly effective at preventing COVID-19. . " Notice it says Preventive covid 19 , not preventing the symptoms of covid 19. the vaccines available now in the US have a 95% prevention rate , which means that there is still a 5% chance of getting it. So , reading further more on the CDC website it states : " Based on what we know about vaccines for other diseases and early data from clinical trials, experts believe that getting a COVID-19 vaccine may also help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19." So you have a 5% chance of getting it but a good chance that you will not get seriously sick. So you expect Thailand to shoot themselves on the tourism foot, because vaccinated people might have a minuscule chance of getting infected, and an even smaller chance of getting sick. BUT, you think it is Ok to release unvaccinated people from quarantine with a significantly bigger chance of getting infected and infecting others? https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/vaccine-benefits.html Edited January 27, 2021 by sirineou include link to CDC 6 4 2

This makes sense as there have only been vaccinated people for a little over a month and there has not been enough time to do the studies (which are ongoing). As for the vaccine effectiveness, yes, they are extremely good at preventing COVID-19 disease after one contracts an infecting dose of the virus. There is NO claim they do anything to prevent virus infection in the first place. All I have seen is that it doesn't. Therefore, vaccinated people with the virus who themselves are protected from COVID-19 disease still breathe and go about their daily life in public and can pass on the virus to others. This is also why there is the advice that vaccinated people should still wear masks...so they won't infect unvaccinated people. The idea is not to prevent vaccinated people from the 5% chance of getting sick...it's to protect the vast majority of unvaccinated Thais from getting the virus from vaccinated travelers if they are allowed into the country without testing and quarantine. Popular Post wordchild
one big issue here is , what about kids? they cant get vaccinated. ie Will families with kids still have to quarantine? Including those of us who live in Thailand and may wish to travel abroad and then return to Thailand? Or will it be sufficient just for the adult members of the family to have been vaccinated? No families will come unless this is resolved. Single adult males only. Just like the old days! Edited January 28, 2021 by wordchild
