Police in Buriram announced the arrest of a Thai man and two wives. They are a criminal gang responsible for ripping off many people with fraudulent online sales.

Arrested were Wanchalerm, 30, from Bangkok, his "panraya luang" (main legal wife) and his other wife Jureeporn.

Taking pictures from popular sites online they set up their own site to con people into parting with money for things like gold mag wheels, designer bags and other items.

As soon as victims fell for the scam their transferred funds were removed to accounts operated by the wives. This was soon spirited elsewhere.

They were responsible for 358,155 baht's worth of theft in Chanthaburi and 451, 170 baht in Buriram.

Money in ten accounts, six phones and 14 SIM cards were seized.

They have admitted to 4 million baht in theft though the real figure is expected to be 10 million.

Pol Maj-Gen Phanu Buranasiri a deputy of Region 3 said the man and his wives were named in four warrants and had been out of jail for a year after being imprisoned before.

Further victims who transferred money to the women's accounts are welcome to contact the Region 3 police to press charges.
