Pattaya Update News reported that authorities in Pattaya will significantly increasing testing for Covid-19 at the resort.

Chonburi has a quota of 12,420 free tests as part of Thai social security schemes.

And the testers will be heading to Pattaya first.

They can do 150 per hour and results will come back in 8 hours.

Hundreds of business and individuals will be targeted in the drive that is designed to boost tourist confidence.

City Hall and Chonburi social security are working on the plan.

Great news but i believe for a foreigner at BPH it is 3500 plus a 350 baht translation fee if needed. Don't know how long it takes for the results but doing it soon so will post once it is done

What if it goes the other way. None of us believe Samut Prakan is a one off that is because of the Burmese do we?

That isn't very many for the whole province. If they get 12,400+ negative results though that would reassure people.

I hope they are ready if that is not the case though.

So all of Chonburi, the home of 1.7 million, gets 12,000... does not seem like many.

Both tourists are said to be happy with these precautions and will return for the Songkran weekend.

Thailand have completed 1,217,873 tests according to Worldometer.

Hardly risen since the second wave started.

Maybe they're frightened of seeing the real extent of the Pandemic.
