NAN (NNT) - Forest fire and haze are the two disasters that commonly occur in the dry season in addition to water shortages. To be prepared this year, army units in Nan have been training their personnel in fighting forest fires, and haze prevention and mitigation.

The 38th Military Circle Commander, Maj Gen Russamontree Jinasen has officiated at a forest fire and haze disaster prevention and mitigation training course at Suriyapong Camp in Nan.

The training was provided by tutors and a team of firefighters from Doi Phu Kha National Park, giving trainees practical knowledge about forest fire management.

The Royal Thai Army has instructed army units to help support forest fire fighting operations carried out by responsible agencies, in order to respond to the situation more rapidly.

70 army personnel participated in the training today from the 38th Military Circle, the 32nd and 33rd Ranger Regiments, the 10th and 15th Cavalry Squadrons, and the Internal Security Operations Command in Nan.
