Dutchman from Phuket arrested for ‘Shopping Mall’ app scam

PHUKET:-- Police are calling for all people who fell prey to the scam rolled out through the ‘Shopping Mall’ app to file reports of how much money they lost to the scheme. Police believe that more than 1,000 people in Phuket and on Koh Samui were duped out of money through the scam.

Two wet markets and nine buildings in Pathum Thani locked down until Feb 25th

Pathum Thani Provincial Governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum issued an order on Monday locking down two markets and nine commercial buildings for nine days, from on Wednesday until February 25th, after 221 people have been found to be infected with COVID-19 since February 9th.

(Reuters) - Protesters in Myanmar kept up demands on Monday for the release of ousted civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi and an end to military rule despite the deployment of armoured vehicles and more soldiers on the streets.

HANOI (Reuters) - Vietnam on Monday reintroduced stay at home measures in the northern province of Hai Duong after it reported dozens of COVID-19 cases there every day since a new outbreak last month.

Israeli study finds 94% drop in symptomatic COVID-19 cases with Pfizer vaccine

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's largest healthcare provider on Sunday reported a 94% drop in symptomatic COVID-19 infections among 600,000 people who received two doses of the Pfizer's vaccine in the country's biggest study to date.

Thailand-China sign deal promoting Thai fruit export

BANGKOK (NNT) - With seasonal fruit about to hit the market, including durian, rambutan, and mangosteen, the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce has singed an agreement with CCIC Thailand to provide better traceability service for Thai fruit exported to China, following a new traceability requirement for all imported farm products into China.

22 COVID-19 infections found in Chulalongkorn university campus

22 COVID-19 infections have been found in Chulalongkorn University’s (CU) Bangkok campus, most among university staff, while the virus was found on the surfaces of finger and facial scanners, according to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).
