IF the Thai experts analyse this microtrend, perhaps they could come up with more friendly retirement policies to attract those 80-100 yrs old,

I do not think generally there are many people over 80 here

I am not sure if the lack of them has anything to do with government policies.

At some point when people get older it seems they return to their home countries for proper medical care and family support.

My understanding is if you enter Thailand on visa exempt permit you dont need any medical insurance and then you can apply for two extensions.

You need the medical insurance to pay for any treatment you may need, not simply to stay here.

Going back to the OP. I am not employed but hope to stay here as a pensioner.

Has anyone over 70 managed to buy comprehensive health insurance from a Thai company. Last time I filled in loads of paperwork received quotes only to be told not for foreigners by a C Mai broker as if our risk somehow greater maybe ?

I am not that age yet but self insurance via large savings seems the only option as if critcally medivac is maybe impossible and the pandemic has just made it all harder.

Details from any satisfied customer not agents or brokers please.
