"All you ever needed to know about marijuana in Thailand" - Anutin kicks off huge festival today

Government deputy spokeswoman Traisuree said that Thailand's DPM and health minister Anutin Charnvirakul will open the "Ganja and hemp 360 degree festival for the people" today.

The event is being staged at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram until Sunday.

It aims to be a one stop shop to educate and inform about everything you need to know about ganja and hemp in Thailand.

Promotion material about the event reveals there will be workshops and keynote speeches from leaders in the field.

Saturday participants will be able to find out about "Craft Soda", massages using oil, food products and something called "Khao yam kan" (rice - spicy salad - gan (ja))

Tomorrow there is how to make soy sauce from marijuana, a variety of sweets and "choco balls".

Sunday is all about drinks and even an alternative to Tiger Balm.

Anutin campaigned at the last election on a platform of legalizing weed.

Though his reforms have opened up economic prospects, people who would like the freedom to enjoy a spliff have been warned.

The drug that makes the user high is still a no-no in Thailand punishable by fines and even prison.

I'd say there are plenty of people who would know more about ganja in Thailand than Anutin!

Hopefully this will be this ex construction workers last press release for today. Does anyone else think he may have more than health on his mind when it comes to this relatively new cash crop.

Stoned drivers are not as accident prone Google

I didn't know that Google was accident prone.!

Are you saying that you would not take a ride from an alcoholic Grab driver who says "with you after I finish my alcoholic drink" but you would take one from some junkie who says "with you after I finish taking my stoning inducing drug!

That's where I live

Drivers found to be impaired by prescribed or illicit drugs will be prosecuted for a more serious offence; Drug Impaired Driving under the Influence of Drugs. ... The penalty for a first offence for either charge is a fine between $900 - $2,500 and a minimum 10 month licence disqualification.

Did google research Thailand... Thais can't drive in normal circumstances, I've witnessed what they do when pi*sed, god knows what they'd do if stoned.

What has Google got to do with common sense (non stoned/impaired variety) the law and real (not doctored-pun intended) medical advice?

Show me a National Government/WHO medical advice which recommends driving under the influence of these types of drugs .

Not as accident prone compared to what?

This is from a stoned driver study:

Using marijuana can impair your judgment, motor coordination, ability to concentrate, and slow your reaction time. Therefore, it can impair your driving skills. Anytime the skills needed to drive safely are impaired, even slightly, the chances of having an auto crash increase.

Stoned driving is impaired driving.

Support it if you want but I certainly hope you or one of your loved ones is not seriously injured or killed by a stoned driver.

I assume you typed the above after your "everyday in evening" evening smoke.  If so I rest my case assuming that is  that you are a native English speaker!

I gave up several years ago. I would sometimes drive safer when a bit out of it but other times  I would say I was so far gone to be dangerous. They introduced roadside tests for it where I lived so I gave up driving.
