BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's economy is seen recovering in the fourth quarter of the year, amid expectations that easing coronavirus restrictions will bring in tourism income, the finance minister said on Wednesday.

Southeast Asia's second-largest economy is improving but when it to fully recover will largely depend on external factors, Finance minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith told a business seminar.

"Exports have not grown that much and tourism is missing," he said.

Another pipe dream. They need to get on the ball and start vaccinating the public en-mass and stop playing games.  They have already murdered the golden goose called tourism, and now they must sacrifice the lamb and the fatted calf.  The western countries have already started to recover economically, but of course some of that could be based upon stimulus measures, something Thailand did on a very limited basis, and then created internal lockdowns for a few provinces which stifled the recovery that had started.

I think I would have a better shot at winning the lottery here.

I am not sure why....maybe it is the whole Thai Lottery mentality of predicting winning numbers?

But really if Thai news ever wants any credibility at all they need to report news not predictions

Same for That Govt <sic> They should report facts not predictions

If in fact after 4th quarter Thai economy is doing better THEN announce it ????

That's what you call counting your chickens before they hatch,  but don't forget Mr Minister that all eggs don't hatch...... ????
