EVENKEEL Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Has anyone built a countertop or had walls finished with the new style smooth acid finish? Just wondering on the cost for this, is the acid resin expensive?
EVENKEEL Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 The countertop I want built is 260cm x 100cm with the smooth acid finish. It's become kind of popular. No cabinet doors just an open type. The first quote I got was 22,000 bht.
bojo Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Just looked at some pics of acid stains, many quite spectacular. That 22K quote, if that was just for the 2.6sqm top only, would be much cheaper in granite, should you consider granite and would be more durable that cement, albeit in limited colour/patterns.............

The quote was for building the entire cabinet, vertical supports and countertop. I just wanted something different to spruce up an old tired kitchen. These folks who gave quote were just fishing. I see alot of places using this type of concrete finish for walls so it can't be expensive, I think skill comes to play more than cost of materials.

I have had 2 bars done over time and the Thais (2 different teams years apart) are very good at this and the cost is pretty reasonable with a wide range of stones and colours..Incredibly hard wearing also...

I had to google that. Looks different, I'll ask the next guy giving a price.

The terazzo guys are a breed apart/specialist to that job and surface and it's real messy BTW, with a 3/4 step process over a few days..........It's called 'Hin Khart' in Thai 1
