Deputy governor of the BMA Lt-Gen Sophon Pisuthiwong was guest of honor at a ceremony in Jaran Sanitwong to celebrate the start of work to clear up hanging cables in the area.

Surveys had been done in February after complaints from area residents about the wires on a 3,820 meter stretch from the Boromratchachonnanee Intersection to the Saphan Klong Mon bridge.

Work with the collaboration of BMA civil engineers and agencies like CAT and the 3BB company is expected to be finished by the end of April.

It is clearing up the wires and beautification - not part of the cable burying scheme.

Though Naew Na reported that three more areas of Bangkok had now finished the cable burying.

They also mentioned that all this was part of preparations for an APEC meeting at the end of the year.
