Bangkok restaurant staffer fired after tirade at student applying for job

It is what the Thais are increasingly referring to as a "drama" - indignation after an event that gets netizens in a froth. A video is usually involved.

 

This one involved a student who went to a branch of the popular restaurant Wine Connection to apply for a job.

 

But after some misunderstandings in which the interviewer criticised the applicant for not being ready for the interview things turned nasty.

 

The woman in the restaurant allegedly grabbed the arm of the student, pulled her ear then dragged her out of the restaurant pulling off her face mask and tossing it outside with her, reported Daily News.

 

This so enflamed the student that they went to pick up their mobile phone that they had left with a relative and went back to start filming and questioning the actions of the staffer - this was posted by Sanook. 

 

 

 

Comment on social media was predictably rife.

 

Wine Connection responded swiftly by saying in a letter that this was behavior that did not represent their values. 

 

The staffer concerned had not been with them long and has now had her employment terminated.

Amazing what a social media video can do to get a business to swiftly bring it's staff into line.
