Phuket municipal election preliminary results released

PHUKET: The Phuket office of the Election Commission of Thailand (PEC) has released the preliminary counts of all votes cast last weekend in the local elections in the 12 municipal areas on the island last weekend.

More than 230,000 eligible voters turned out last Sunday (Mar 28) to cast their votes for candidates contesting the positions of mayor or as councillors in the 12 municipalities: Phuket City, Patong, Kathu, Wichit, Chalong, Rawai, Rassada, Srisoonthorn, Karon, Cherng Talay, Thepkrasattri and Pa Khlok.

However, PEC Chief Passakon Siripakayapon cautioned that the official results of the election might take 30-60 days to announce.

According to the adjoining article says the law states 30 days for results so why is this "bod" saying up to 60 days?

I find it rather disgusting for someone to suggest that a British Iranian woman who's brother was murdered when she was 13 knows little of Iran. It was the country she was born into, and ideed spent her formative years. she in fact fled in 1980 when her 24 year old brother was murdered by the new government. and a year after attackers shot her mum, and tried to shoot her dad.

I wonder if this old sign from the now-defunct Roo Bar on Walking Street in Pattaya would be considered anti-Islamic under the U.K. definition. I believe the wording of the sign goes back to a Thai-owned bar in Bangkok in the 1980s, but many farang thought it funny and the sign spread after the Internet took hold. You could see this sign in numerous bars in the 1990s. In its day, this sign was much m ore prevalent than anti-Israeli signs. I've had this photo for years; I don't remember the source.
