As such they are less likely to catch the virus or transmit it. People were expecting increased 'waves' during the winter months in Europe and the west. I believe it’s less to do with heat but more to do with humidity level. The virus suspends itself in the air by attaching to water vapor droplets. The higher the humidity the larger the water droplets and the wicker they fall. There has been a lot of research done in this area. I work in a private hospital and when we had Covid patients several months ago we put humidifiers in the rooms and common areas were the Covid patients were to reduce the chances of airborne transmission. The northern winters can produce very cold dry air in which the virus can remain suspended for up to I believe 20 times longer than a relatively humid environment. Bhavana had an outbreak some time ago, might be under control.
