PHUKET:-- The Phuket Cultural Office has shared a notice asking for all people on the island to observe the ‘new normal’ requirements for the Thai New Year Songkran celebrations, which begin tomorrow (Apr 13).

People are not to splash water, apply powder on others’ cheeks, hold foam parties or hold celebrations that involve large gatherings of people.

Instead, people are asked to observe Songkran by clean their houses or local temples, making merit by pouring water on Buddha statues, praying and listening to monks’ teachings, pouring water on elders’ hands, wearing face masks and appropriate outfits, not showing skin, and to send their through online means people are unable to travel home.

another bright idea from our enlightened leaders; if they had brains they would be dangerous; o, wait, they are anyway

I makes me want to puke that the term "New Normal" was allow to be injected into the vocabulary on a global basis.  Ask yourself.  How did MIT get so prescient all the way back in March 2020 before this even got off the ground?  What is basically being said is that we will be in a forever "pandemic."  Written before the so "pandemic" ever got wings.
"We’re Not Going Back To Normal"
That sounds like a promise.

The by-product of 'new normal' will be to destroy every country's culture and heritage, even here in Thailand.  Now I'm being prescient.  Watch over the next few years.  'New normal' will be a bland, culture-less, global homogeneity that will be as exciting as post-Bolshevik Communist Russia with about as many freedoms.
"New normal" = Coming dystopia.
It's not going to be pleasant for the plebs and commoners.

If all the governments collective brains were put together as dynamite, there wouldn't be enough to blow their collective nose.

lucky for me I don't have long enough left to really care about the future.

Good riddance to Songkran though.

The New Normal may exist after 2022, but it will not look at all like the Old Normal that we all had enjoyed.

All countries in the world will be much deeper in debt, there will be less people around, as the present number of people

who died will likely be double, by the end of this pandemic, especially in the USA, Brazil and other poorer countries, and lots

as well in the countries that have those large refugee camps.  That will be the future for all. That is my cheery estimate anyway.

Geezer
