I really don't know the answer to this question.

I someone has recently ( let's say a couple of months ago ) caught the virus añd has gone through the 'sick' period and their system has successfully fought the virus will this mean they are full of antibodies and if they are then tested will they show positive for Covid or not?

Not necessarily, it depends on many factors but it should show some degree of antibodies.

You may also hear it called a serology test.

The antibody test isn’t checking for the virus itself. Instead, it looks to see whether your immune system -- your body’s defense against illness -- has responded to the infection.

and if they are then tested will they show positive for Covid or not?

PCR test should show negative results after 2-3 weeks of infection.

Not on a PCR test - which is what all the testing facilities here use. PCR tests check for the antigen, not the antibody.

There are tests that will detect antibodies but that's not the kind of testing being talked about here.

There are 2 different tests: one for the virus itself and one for antibodies.

Diagnosis of current COVID infection depends on having  actual viral material present in your body and has nothing to do with presence of antibodies.

@blackcab.

Why change it to Will I ?

I wasn't asking about me.

My apologies for choosing a topic title that was incorrect. I have messaged you by PM and changed the title to the words you have chosen.

many places. Most hospitals, also here  if you are in Bangkok https://www.facebook.com/MedConsultClinicAsia/photos/a.175261732505929/3160206974011375/?type=3

Not a very useful test  though. The rate of false negatives is about 15% even for the "send out" test, higher for the rapid on the spot test.  So testing negative doesn't rule out having antibodies (and for that matter, you can have immunity without antibodies, antibodies are only part of the immune system response) . And if you test positive, it is at this point unknown how long immunity lasts - but it is known that repeat infection occurs, so even if positive vaccination would still be advised.
