What's in the Local Beer?

Featured Replies

I bought Beer Lao from Makro last week, nice beer, and to my utter astonishment I noticed it has an INGREDIENTS LIST.

I was impressed. Only 4 ingredients.

Then, I buy Heineken and I noticed it too has an ingredients list. 3 ingredients.

Sitting here drinking my Heini now and feeling pretty <deleted> about all the years I drank Chang, Leo, Archa, and Singha. Must be gut-rot if they won't declare what's in it.

I do think Singha is the best of the bad bunch though. But most Thais I know only like Leo and most Farang I know prefer Chang. I actually think Archa is better than Chang anyway, but what do I know...

I do enjoy San Mig Light though. Less sugar, less calories, same alcohol. Good taste -almost like a Corona. I will need to check the ingredients.

Anyway, what's your opinion on all this?

Anyone know what is in the local beers?

I like lao kow.. better than beer..

Tried the new Chang Cold Brew last week. It's just OK, but still prefer Tappers @ 6.5%.

Don't really give a monkey's what's in it.

My order of preference is:

1. Beer Lao

2. Heineken or SanMig Light

3. Singha

4. Archa

5. Leo

6. Chang

Can't really decide where Tiger fits in.

Usually water about 95%, ethanol about 5%, with any slack being taken up by minor additives.

I don't know why, but I can drink Leo and Archa in comfort. Singha and Chang both give me a headache.

I've always liked Federbrau. The only beer made in Thailand that is brewed in accordance to the strict German Purity law.

I used to drink Chang then they changed it, I didn't like it so tried Archa, my go to beer these days, I always thought the majority of Thai beers were chemical beers ie no hops or anything organic, maybe someone here has the info. ????

A another thread about light  beers.

Chang is the the most popular beer and just perfect at the correct temperature for me don't like any others.

A treat is Draught Guinness for me.

I recently try out Cheers Beer brewed by the Heniken and Tiger Beer manufacturer.

Not bad and Gòod price.

Anyway, after 2 rounds, all beer taste the same for me ????

All drinkable, none memorable and they all give me a bad head.

After going through different beer phases, I'm now a Heinekin fan.  Leo is Ok, drank it for the longest.
