Pretty much all closed... except restaurants to 9pm, and even there no alcohol to be served.

All closed except for

- restaurants

- coffee shops

- gyms

- malls

- supermarkets

If you can survive with that list then it’s still open:)

Nope, only Malls, Supermarkets remain open from 1st of May, and Restaurants for takeaway only.

Was thinking of popping over to Pattaya for the weekend with the misses.

Obviously, the attraction is the nice hotel selection.

But will Central (and restarants inside) be open?

Will restaurants outside be open?

Is the beach open, and can you buy a beer at 7/11 and drink it on the beach?

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Strikes me as a wind up... but just to add. Chonburi and Bangkok ( Bangkok, Chon Buri, Chiang Mai, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan) have been declared deep red zones with the most strict limitations. Travel from these areas is 'for necessity only'... although last time I don't think people were being actively blocked. If one is socially responsible, I would say stay home for now.

Have you seen any open air ones lately????? lol

Not to be too pedantic, but a lot of beer bars have a pole and are hence open air......

The reality is I haven't seen much of anything lately.

Restaurants take-away only as from this Saturday..........

From what I've seen the majority were a lot less than half full anyway so not achieving too much.

I went for my last meal last night (like a condemned man)... only a few other groups in the open air place I used.  There seemed very little risk with the staff all masked up, only couples, a few with a kid or two, eating well separated outside.... but there is an AC room where I have seen groups of about 20 making merry and eating. The other side of the coin.

Yes that is why I cunningly said the majority. Especially when a pub serving food will have a restaurant license. I was in the I rover last week(not a normal haunt) and despite them seemingly still charging 85 for a small beer it was quite full for a while.

It's looking like they will restrict everything, without a curfew, thus, they can say it's not a lockdown, hence, no welfare payments.

Since such a move will not cost them anything, there will be no hurry to lift these restrictions.

What a crock, this government is doing so much permanent damage to Thailand's functional tourist economy it's unbelievable.
