BANGKOK, April 30 (TNA) – The government is ready to accept COVID-19 vaccine registration applications from all producers, said Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

Speaking after a meeting to discuss COVID-19 vaccine issues with representatives of Sinopharm Co, Mr Anutin said he told the representatives that the Public Health Ministry supported the registration of COVID-19 vaccines from all manufacturers and Sinopharm could file their application with the Food and Drug Administration when it had all necessary documents.

Mr Anutin stressed that the government did not choose to support any particular vaccine producers and more choices of vaccines were arriving in Thailand because manufacturers had enough vaccines for sales and were seeking vaccine registration in Thailand.

If they were smart, what they are definitely not, they would approach Curevac in Germany and give it a emergency approval.

Curevac is a coming star in the field of mRNA-vaccines. Besides BioNTech, they employ some of the leading scientists in the field of mRNA technology.

Their vaccine is ready already and the production has started. They are just waiting for the slow and bureaucratic approval of the EU, which is expected for early June. Mid of last year there were rumours that Donald Trump plans to buy the company, and therefore the German government invested 300 million Euro in the company to prevent that.

This vaccine is based on mRNA, similar to BioNTech-Pfizer, but is not demanding low temperatures for storage. It will be produced in huge numbers soon. IIRC, they will supply 300 million doses to the EU till end of the year. Curevac cooperates with Bayer, and they use around a dozen production plants in Europe, among them factories of GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis.

Maybe Curevac could supply some million doses relatively quickly to Thailand, who knows? It will be a perfect vaccine, as is will be very efficient on the one hand and easy to handle on the other hand. I have no doubt that it will be as safe as BioNTech-Pfizer with little to no side effects.

A normal ministry of health in a normal country should know about this company, and many countries are in contact with them already. But okay this is Thailand, and here everything is under inept superman Prayut.

Think of the big losses that would imply!

Losses for Bioscience and for Sinovac/CP.

No no no.  BS and SV/CP are philanthropic organizations working for the good of humanity.  Profits?  Who cares about profits in these dire times?
Vaccines are coming for sure very soon (sometime in the distance future - maybe).  No need for imported vaccines.  Everything is under control.

"Under control?  That it is.  Very, Very, Controlled."  ????

My understanding is that the private sector, including the private local thai hospitals have already tweaked the supply chain for covid vaccine importation and ready to begin rollout BUT are waiting for approval from the FDA, thai goverment whom are dragging their feet, creating delays for some reason or another.

1.  SinoVac 50.65% in Brazil trial, 91.25% in Turkey trial not 55%............approved
2. Astra/Zeneca................76%.............approved
3. Sputnik V............................91.6%.......................not

4. Pfizer.....................................91.3% not 95%................approved, nobody knows when imported
5. Moderna...................over 90% not 95%................approved, nobody knows when imported
6. Johnson & Johnson only 68% not 95%...............not

7. CanSino Biologics developed Convidecia 65.3%

8. Sinopharm Beijing 79.3%

9. Bhorat Covacin 78%

those percentage figures don't mean much. Any of those approved worldwide vax are good enough to stop death and spread of infection.

UK GOV Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine adverse reactions

Copy and paste this to get the UK governments adverse vax reactions and deaths. Pfizer and Astra Zeneca show alarmingly high numbers. Over 1000 deaths and 200,000 + reactions ( one week )

Way too little, way too late.

Minister Anutin.... Instead of being a racist, a bigot, and now looking for a scapegoat. ...

Do everyone a great service and retire and let a worldly, educated, and culturally literate Person be appointed to THE MINISTER OF HEALTH.

You have done enough harm to the kingdom and our country.

You are asking way too much for any dishonest corrupt Thai to change skins. and this is all about every person who is in the Junta and who kowtows to them and who they protect.
