Alleged serial rapist of "pretties" - we didn't let him go say police in Bangkok

Police in Bangkok investigating a series of cases against an alleged serial rapist denied claims they let him go.

 

Bang Khun Thian police in south western Bangkok are in the process of gathering evidence and getting a warrant for Denphoom Wattanachotyinyo, 39. 

 

He is suspected of threatening, raping and robbing hostesses known as "pretties" who met him for "entertainment" purposes.

 

This euphemism used by Thai Rath usually means sexual assignations. 

 

Earlier they reported that Fah, 22, an undergraduate student at a Thonburi university had reported a rape at a room in the Metro Park Sathon condominium in the Phasi Charoen area of the Thai capital on May 1st. 

 

During the investigation both suspects were interviewed at the scene and Denphoom counterclaimed that Fah had stolen his gold ring.

 

Fah said this was nonsense; forensics then found a fake gold ring discarded in the trash at the scene. 

 

The police said they had not let Denphoom go. But in the "confusion" of the investigation he managed to slip away. 

 

In a latest development in the case a woman called Fon, a 23 year old student in Raminthra, went to the Bowon Mongkhon police yesterday to say that Denphoom threatened her with a knife, raped her and forced her to transfer 2,500 baht via a banking app on April 9th. 

 

She showed police a slip on her phone before she was taken to a hotel in Charoen Sanitwong where the crime allegedly occurred.

It doesn't take much to confuse this lot.

Perhaps some grey coloured bank notes could possibly have helped. I know they always get my attention and distract me from other matters.

Because not all Thai Pretties are hookers. Plenty of pretty young girls from Universities work as models to advertise all kinds of stuff at malls such as  electronic products, cars,  foods, clothes, travel tours , beer, boats,  ect. Some are also hired  to serve at parties so the Host can look like a big shot.

You obiviously have not spent much time in Thailand or around  many Thai Universities. Below are a few  photos to show what their skirts look like.  Rangsit Uni is known to have the shortest skirts of all the schools.

How do you know that she is wearing a very short skirt?   Even if she was, how does that affect her standing as a uni student, do you think that no students wear short skirts or that wearing short skirts is, necessarily, a bad thing?

I agree rape is never allowed or an excuse.... and to all the other comments I got.. I don't care how they are named , hostess, hooker, call girl university students..or what ever, but the dresses a lot of women are wearing are not sexy but are too much... and therefore they look cheap. Sexy is beautiful and stylish, but here in Thailand what some women are wearing you see in the red light districts and are not sexy at all

I do believe some time ago a member of the Education Authority DEMANDED the length of the skirts should be down to the ankle, this was the students response. Ha!

If the police ever find the guy above who "slipped away" in the "confusion," I wonder how they make a legal case in this kind of a situation?

 

Legally, rape is basically non-consensual sex (sexual assault). But in this case, apparently, this guy had hired the woman for "entertainment" at a condo in BKK... So if she was hired to do a job, how do the police make a legal case it was non-consensual?

 

Except, maybe, since there is no legal prostitution in Thailand, the fact this guy had hired the woman to provide sex becomes legally irrelevant. And she can simply say it was non-consensual, or that's not what she was in fact hired to do... Or perhaps just say she changed her mind at some point.

 

BTW, I'm NOT condoning or excusing the alleged conduct... Just wondering how such things get sorted out in legal terms... how a Thai criminal court judge unravels this kind of case?

Sure, but in this case it appears sex had already been agreed, and they are complaining because they didn't get the money he promised them. While the chap is clearly a dastardly criminal whom needs severely punishing, I'm not sure if this offense was rape, or something more like shoplifting.

Yes and if you offer them enough money they will go sleep with you , that's kind of what the job holds and they all know that . Ok maybe 10% will not but that still leaves 90% that will . The girls that show of the cars etc are also at the hi-so parties where the big spenders pay quit a lot of money to be served (taken care of) by them .

Seems like more Thai bashing to me . So you are saying all  Thai women are basically hookers and will F--   any farang for money.  That all pretty Thai women are hookers if they wish to dress sexy or wear short skirts . I said all pretties , not all pretty girls . Pretties is a job to entertain men(and woman) and it's kind of an escort girl . I am not talking about all thai woman . So don't change what i am saying into what you are thinking . I am not bashing any Thai just saying it how it is . If you get your rocks on looking at the swenson girls or schoolgirls i find you a bit strange . If a prettie would be dressing like a swenson girl or schoolgirl i wouldn't complain.
