Ban Muang reported from Tuesday's meeting of the Prachuap Khiri Khan authorities chaired by deputy governor Phromphiriya Kijanuson.

Eight new cases of Covid-19 had been reported in the province bringing the total to 1,522 of whom 1,080 had recovered and 438 were still being treated.

Five cases were severe and 14 medium.

Main item of news was that pubs, bars and karaokes in the province remain shuttered until further notice.

But water theme parks have been allowed to open subject to certain measures. The water must be chlorinated to at least 2 PPM and each park will be restricted to the number of patrons based on a square meter scale.

Further details of this will be announced in an order soon.

Measures to stop Covid entering the Prachuap prison - where no cases have been reported - were also discussed.

Visiting has been cut down for the next 28 days and new arrivals must be quarantined for 14 days. Vaccination has been put in place for all prison staff and cleaners.

If there are any cases the prison will be shut off.

Meanwhile Dr Suriya Khuharat said that an extra 22,000 doses of Sinovac had been secured for vaccination of frontline individuals this month. That will be enough for 11, 000 priority people.
