Working at a school without work permit, leaving

Featured Replies

So basically, I have been working at this school without a work permit due to complications with the process in the country. I've actually signed and been working this whole year. My contract is coming to and end in June. I have found a higher paying and more legitimate school that is willing to hire my July on-wards.

Here's my question, should I give my current employer a notice of my leaving? Or give them a notice, but with fear that they might screw over my last months pay because technically im not even a legit worker at the school. Has anyone been in this situation?

Thanks for all the help, in advance.

Rule 1: Never do or deal drugs in Thailand.

Rule 2: Never work without legitimate papers.

Could find yourself in a precarious situation there. I'd be very careful not to <deleted> anyone off. Or you could find yourself deported & black listed.

Don't be surprised if you get an utter roasting for this topic. Goodluck.

Do not tell them anything, when your contract finishes, just leave. If they ask why you did not renew, just tell them you are going back home to take care of family.

Does your contract have a renewal clause? If not, don't tell the school that you're leaving.
