UK Settlement Visa Process

Featured Replies

Can someone just clarify a couple of points?

Prior to applying online for a UK settlement visa for my Thai wife, she must

1. Book and get a TB test done

2. Book and take A1 English test

Asking as it will mean a trip to Bangkok (we are in CM) and would rather get them both done at the same time.

Yes.  She will need to have a minimum of A1 Pass (for IELTS Life Skills if applying from Thailand), and a TB certificate.

There's no harm in starting the process now. At anytime you can save the application and return to it later. With all the uploading that is required, I found it easier to do things bit by bit.

Strange, it offers the test in Chiang Mai, but when you look for a booking, Chiang Mai is not an option, only Bangkok!?

Test centres offering IELTS on computer

Bangkok, Chiang Mai

Life Skills has to be conducted face to face, not on computer.  It's possible the BC don't have enough examiners based in CM and sending them up from Bangkok is being affected by Covid restrictions.  IDP currently only offer Life Skills tests in Bangkok.
