Twelve of the 17 people in Thailand’s northeastern province of Udon Thani, who were found to be infected with the Delta, or Indian variant of COVID-19, have fully recovered and returned home, said Mr. Uthen Hakaew, deputy chief of the Udon Thani provincial health office, today (Wednesday).

Five are still being treated in hospitals, with two elderly patients on ventilators, two others being given oxygen and the fifth expected to be discharged tomorrow.

Those who were in close contact with the infected have been placed in 14-day quarantine, said Mr. Uthen, adding that provincial health officials are confident that the Delta variant infections are under control, as he urged members of the public not to panic.

Delta Dawn what's that Covid you have on, could it be a faded "mute" from days gone by?

And did I hear you say they was vaxxing you today? With luck you'll dodge that mansion in the sky.

So ~ 30% are severe cases.

Not sure the country could handle this rate if a pandemic?

Hopefully the remaining four pull through and live long lives.

If one were to pass, that would be a 5.88% death rate.

So much for not using the "country where found" moniker. I guess that was only applicable for the Thai variant?

Looks like the Thais are fairly resilient to the Wuhan and Indian strains.

It is the English strain that has caused 90% of the deaths and most of the cases.

I wonder if it is diet, genetics or something else?

The experience with the Indian variant in the UK suggests that the Indian variant will eventually predominate in Thailand, too. UK has the best detection in place, but that only serves to know how quickly the Indian variant can spread, not to stop the variant in its tracks. It's important to know which vaccines are effective protection against the Indian variant, so is anyone checking Sinovac and Sinopharm?

Is this post still alive ?.

   Just asking ...

    I  live?  , exist  in Udon .

Aint , much alive in Udon , these days .

     Nothing changes . RIP ..
