They arrested 29 people for drinking and disobeying the Covid-19 regulations. There were 13 men and 16 women. They all soon appeared at the South Phranakhon court and were given one month jail terms reduced to 15 days as everyone admitted their wrongdoing. The sentences were suspended for one year and everyone was fined 5,000 baht. In addition two managers of the establishment are being prosecuted separately for not having a licence to operate, not having an alcohol serving licence, contravening the Bangkok Covid regulations and other offences. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-28 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 4

I'd have doubled the fine for stupidity - 2am, loud music, only an idiot would put the boom box on full and think the police wouldn't arrive

A Thai friend of mine was one of those busted that night. He texted me the next day as he was waiting at the courthouse to pay his fine. He said there were about 30 patrons at the pub that night and a majority of them were Thai. Ironically, I was out at another pub with him and his friends earlier that night, and when that one closed, he suggested we all go to Soi 22. I passed and went home, because being a small overcrowded Soi 22 hole-in-the-wall, after hours no less, didn't seem too smart. 2

Yet another establishment with no operating licence. Yet if this is the case one wonders how "taxes" are collected?

Frequenting any pub while a ban is in situ is not smart.. but maybe you think it is? 3

Yet they operate in full sight of everyone... no license to operate as a bar, no licence to sell alcohol? Surely local government or police or customs & excise must check every operating business?
