Moving around Thailand: Quarantines required?

Featured Replies

I've seen / heard a few people mention that quarantines are required when moving from one place within Thailand to another.

I can't seem to find a single source which explains exactly how this works though. (Let alone how it's enforced). There also seems to be some disagreement between some of the things I've read.

Is this true? Are quarantines required within Thailand for region-to-region travel?

If so, can someone explain exactly from where-to-where requires a quarantine?  Or is there a resource online somewhere that explains this?

Thanks

In simple terms, if you are coming from a RED zone then you will need to be checked and possibly self-quarantine.

As usual there is NO consistency in Thailand and each province will have its own rules and counter measures.

If you want to be sure, contact the Amphur in the province you wish to enter and they will give you info "from the horses mouth" so to speak and you dont have to rely or make plans based on hearsay.

Stay where you are. There is a Pandemic on which is spread by moving around!

All just guidelines in Thailand, you know Thais rarely follow any rules they do what they want to do!

Correct and now it seems rules are being made up village by village
just been informed today by the MIL
if she wants to go home to her village, NOT travelling from a red/restricted zone
she must surrender herself for 2 week stay at the temple or face the pitch forks.
this is specific to her village

I find it confusing as I know people (as well as seeing people on YouTube) who are travelling around the central provinces without much care and definitely have not been checked.
