Embassies and large consulates around the world had received 12,356 applications for Certificates of Entry from 1st to 8th July. The CoE is a key stipulation for visitors. Of these 5,622 had been approved and 6,110 needed to provide further information before approval. 594 applications were rejected. On Wednesday the spokesman said that 295 people arrived from flights from Doha and Tel Aviv. 718 were due to arrive yesterday and today. In addition Japan and Uzbekistan have now been added by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to the list of countries that can visit Phuket for the sandbox making 68 countries in all. If they keep that figure of 2,244 arrivals per week, it's rather about 30,000 visitors during 3 months than 120,000.
