I will be travelling soon to USA from Thailand I have a non-o visa and will get a reentry stamp. Upon return how long do I have to buy the covid insurance for? Does it have to be until my full one year of stay expires or will I get a 30 or 60 stamp at the airport immigration upon return?

Interested as well. I believe it's a year. So, you and the wife want to go to Sing, Japan for a few days?? Leave and be forced into covid insurance for a year.

It really has me questioning my life here.

If that is the case it would make more since to let your non o visa expire then return on a 60 day tourist visa and buy covid insurance only for the 60 days then get a new non-o visa in Thailand and not have to apply for the covid insurance correct?

I assume you are on a extension of stay  (it is not a visa) not the 90 day entry from a non-o visa.

You only need the covid 19 to be valid to the day your re-entry permit expires.

Yes I do have an extension of stay how is the date determined on your re-entry permit? Do you have to tell immigration when you plan to return or how does valid date be determined? Thank you

A re-entry permit is valid to the day your extension of stay expires.

I understand so as an example if my one year extension of stay expires on July of next year 2022 and I leave and return before then I would need covid 19 insurance until the expiration of July 2022 then going forward on any new extension of stay within the country no covid insurance would be needed correct?  Thank you

Yes

Or if you left and re-entered the country again you could also use the same insurance.

Are there companies that issue covid insurance policies of 3m baht to month or day?

The stupidest thing about this is I have: covid insurance, work insurance and government SSO insurance. All this combined is not good enough. It really speaks to the institutionalized covid interests in Thailand. Frankly, I'm sick of it. All this not to mention you still need insurance even with double vaccination. I'm seriously questioning my presence here.

SORRY for the hijack

Do you need to apply for CoE to enter Thailand although you already have valid non-o and reentry?

Oh, of course. Why would you think anything would be logical or straightforward??!

Every person entering the country is required to have a COE. And that includes Thais.

I do not know if it is only certain Thai insurance company's that you can get the covid  insurance from , but I would inquire if you can buy a yearly policy before you leave, it may not be as expensive , I have a friend who is going to have to pay about 3000B a month till his extension of stay is due for renewal

If the covid 19 insurance meets the requirement any insurer can provide it. Same for companies not in Thailand.

The most important thing is that it pays for treatment of  a asymmetric infection at hospital and that coverage starts on the day you enter the country.

This site for the insurance has some good prices that are based upon nationality.
