Our dog has suffered from ear problems since he was a pup, which causes him to shake his head or scratch his ears. We have taken him to the vet(s) many times, but I have never ever seen a vet look inside his ears with an Otoscope. The vet usually sells us some ear drops, or wants to take swabs for lab testing, but the problem has never cleared up. It's not chronic, it comes and goes, but I wish they would just be able to look inside his ears and see what's going on.

We are having the exact same problem with our  3 year old Westie, i have spent 8000baht  on pills, cream, drops, they all work for  2 days then the problem returns.. Yeast infection the report says

We use the Jomtien Animal hospital on Sukhumvit rd..  they too "do not" use an Otoscope

Those Otoscopes must be very expensive, never seen vet here with one.

Me, too but still searching,  they cost between 650b and 2000b on Lazada

Sounds like ear mites and a otoscope isn't necessary to diagnose them.  You can buy dog/cat ear cleaning solution off of Lazada (or make your own with vinegar and water), clean your pet's ears and apply Frontline on a regular basis to keep the parasites away.
